about us
Fürth Laboratory is a research group founded by Dr. Mirjam Fürth and is located at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. Dr. Fürth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering and the Davidson Laboratory.
The lab group consists of undergraduate and graduate students as well as visiting researchers. We focus on numerical and experimental hydrodynamics with applications in naval architecture, wave energy harvesting, seakeeping, high-speed craft dynamics, wave downtime analysis, aquaculture and marine wearable robotics.
The group also act as subject matter experts in marine data analytics and ship health monitoring.
The research lab is located in the ABS Engineering Center (pictured), next to the Davidson Laboratory, which houses a high speed towing tank. The group has close collaborations with faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of System and Enterprises and the School of Business, as well as research groups in Sweden, the UK, Japan and with industry partners!
